Disappointed

I really do not like finding out that someone who’s casually done some group work gets crucified over something stupid.  It can be upsetting when you see people copying you, or being super influenced by you, and not crediting you. Believe me, I know this too well.  However, it’s a really bad idea to go after them publicly about it, because it only leads to nastiness and spite, and it leaves more people with a sour taste of *you* even if you’re the one being copied— in some idea, in coloring, or otherwise. 

However, it makes me really mad when shit like this happens under the umbrella of the group.  Don’t do it.  If it can’t be handled privately, it definitely should not be handled publicly on tumblr of all places.  If people want to sit and copy you, that’s their loss, because they’re not working on something to distinguish themselves.  I won’t stand for calling all that to attention in a public light though when the group is supposed to be a friendly place for anyone, even people who are misguided enough to just copy others.  It’s really annoying, but it doesn’t hurt anyone.

It makes me really unhappy to see members of the group driving someone out, even someone who does the thing I hate of not linking back to their inspirations for particular pieces. 

For future reference, if Mike isn’t handling something in a way you like, ask me about it.  If we have the same verdict, please follow that within the group! 

Above all, I don’t want there to be a buttload of personal drama here.  It’s not fun.  For anyone.  I try very hard to keep that stuff totally away from the group, even when there are groups out there totally copying PMD-e and whatever - that sucks, but it would be really shitty to go and have a bunch of people attack them, you know? We don’t want to promote that type of stuff.  We want to be promoting getting along with others, or, if that’s simply not possible, ignoring people who drive us nuts. (That’s what real life is about, anyway!)

If you have no idea what any of this is about, that’s okay, and don’t worry about it.
